If you've had your brows done by another artist and are looking to book a color or shape correction with us, please send photos of your current brows to browloungenj@gmail.com for assessment. This step is necessary to determine if we can accept you as a client. Will I Need a Touch-Up After My Initial Appointment? How Long Will My New Brows Last? Most clients require two sessions to achieve their desired results. You can schedule a touch-up appointment 4 weeks after your initial session using our online booking system. Clients with fuller brows may not need a touch-up. To keep your brows looking fresh, annual touch-ups are highly recommended. Your brow tattoo can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years, depending on factors such as sun exposure, lifestyle, and skin type. Oily skin tends to cause faster fading compared to dry skin.
-
Do you use clean needles?Yes, absolutely! Every client receives a new, sterile, single-use needle. At the start of your treatment, you'll see the needle being taken out of a sealed, sterile package. After your session, the needle is placed into a sharps container and properly disposed of. Our owners, Samantha Castro and Jessica Milne, are fully licensed, certified, and insured, having met all safety and health requirements for aesthetic and tattoo services. They are also certified in bloodborne pathogens.
-
Is permanent makeup painful?Pain tolerance varies from person to person, but most clients find the procedure to be quite relaxing. In fact, 90% of our clients fall asleep during the process! We use numbing cream throughout the entire procedure to ensure you're as comfortable as possible.
-
Can I get permanent makeup while pregnant? No, it’s not recommended to get any permanent makeup procedures done while you are pregnant or nursing.
-
How long does permanent makeup last? The longevity and final look of permanent makeup depend largely on your skin type. Those with oily skin may find that hair strokes heal with a softer, powdered effect, while drier skin types often achieve a crisper, more defined appearance. Darker pigments generally have a longer-lasting effect. To help preserve color, use proper UVA/UVB protection, especially in sunny climates, to prevent fading.
-
How long does the appointment take?Appointments are scheduled for 2 to 2.5 hours to allow ample time for a detailed consultation and the procedure itself. The actual tattooing time may vary depending on the specific treatment.
-
What can I expect at my appointment? We start by designing your new brows with makeup, using precise measuring tools to create ideal symmetry. With years of micropigmentation experience and ongoing education, we carefully select the appropriate blade or needle size based on your skin type and choose the best color match for your skin tone. You’ll have the option to test the color against your skin so you can see it before the procedure begins. To ensure your comfort, a numbing solution is applied during the process. This 2-2.5 hour appointment is highly interactive, and designed to put you at ease throughout. The healing process is simple - there is minimal scabbing, NO downtime, or need to take time off work. After your appointment, you’ll receive an aftercare kit with detailed instructions to follow for 14 days.
-
What can I expect after my appointment? Most clients leave their appointments without any noticeable redness. The numbing solution applied during the procedure helps minimize any swelling or redness, allowing you to carry on with your day without any visible signs - many clients even come during their lunch break and return to work right after. Your results may vary based on your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you follow both the immediate and long-term aftercare instructions for your new tattoo

When is it time for a touch-Up?For Returning Clients Only Before booking your touch-up, please review the following guidelines carefully. These notes are for clients who have completed both their initial appointment and their first touch-up, typically scheduled 4 weeks later. If you’ve had microblading, your brows should be faded by at least 60% before scheduling another appointment. We recommend spacing your annual touch-ups 12-18 months apart. Remember, microbladed brows are low-maintenance, not maintenance-free! It’s perfectly fine to enhance them with a bit of makeup in between. Frequent touch-ups can lead to your brows appearing as a solid tattoo. If that’s your desired look, a powder brow might be a better option. However, if you prefer a natural, hair-stroke appearance, using a little makeup until your brows fade by 60% or more will maintain a more realistic look over time. Unnecessary visits can cause additional trauma to your skin. Faded brows allow for fresher, more precise results at each appointment. If we determine your brows haven’t faded by at least 60%, we may ask you to reschedule. Not sure if you need a touch-up? Feel free to email a photo of your current brows to browloungenj@gmail.com and we’ll provide our professional advice!

What are the Pre-Care instructions for permenant makeup?Skin Products: Discontinue use of any skin-thinning products (such as Retinols, Vitamin A, glycolic acids, or exfoliants) on the brow area at least 2 weeks before your appointment. Waxing and Shaping: Schedule any brow waxing or shaping at least 2 days prior. Brow Tinting: If you tint your brows, do so at least one week before the procedure. Avoid Certain Substances: Do not consume alcohol, caffeine, or take blood thinners (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or niacin) for 48 hours before your appointment, as they can cause excess bleeding and may impact your results. Brow Preferences: Feel free to arrive with your brows filled in as you normally would so we can discuss your desired look. This is especially helpful for clients with specific shape preferences. If you’re open to ideas, I’m happy to design a custom brow shape to suit you. Sensitivity Note: You may experience increased sensitivity and discomfort if your appointment is around your menstrual cycle. Botox and Fillers: Schedule any Botox or filler treatments either 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after your appointment. Skin Condition: We cannot tattoo over any blemishes, sores, or moles in or around the brow area.

What are the After-Care instructions? At TBL we prioritize effective aftercare to give you the best possible results. Following these instructions carefully throughout the entire 10-14 days of healing period is essential for proper healing and color retention. Results may vary by individual, and while we strive for excellence, specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed. After your appointment, you'll receive an aftercare kit with a gentle cleanser and ointment. Use the cleanser by lathering it in your hands, then wash your brows each morning and evening for 7-10 days or until flaking subsides. After washing, pat your brows dry with a clean towel, avoiding any pooling of water in the brow area. Apply a small amount (about the size of a grain of rice) of the provided ointment to each brow, morning and evening, using clean fingers. For clients with oily skin, dry healing may be advised, and ointment use may be skipped for the first 7-10 days. What to Expect Having realistic expectations is key. Healing may not be perfect after the first session, as this process usually takes two steps. During the initial 10-day healing phase, your brows will change in appearance daily, so patience is essential to allow the final result to emerge. Directly after your procedure, your brows will appear darker and more defined for up to two weeks. They may look solid, with hair strokes temporarily disappearing, and have a wet, painted-on look. By days 4-5, flaking may begin, causing your brows to look dry. It’s crucial not to pick at the flakes, as this can lead to patchy areas, missing hair strokes, or scarring. Complete healing typically takes up to 4 weeks. As flaking subsides, hair strokes may look faint under the new skin layer, but they will become more defined over time. Expect daily color changes as your brows fully heal within four weeks. Mild itchiness in the brow area may persist for up to two months as the dermal layer continues to heal.
